Sue Lamoreaux was hired to start the Fashion Permanent Search Practice in 1991. She came to Solomon Page with ten years of recruiting experience and an extensive practice in the apparel industry. Since joining the firm, Sue has continued to serve the diverse needs of her long-standing client base while growing the Permanent Search Practice she now heads. The success of this Practice reflects her client-driven approach to her business and her passionate interest in the fashion and beauty industries. She handles all phases of the search process, from identifying, interviewing, and preparing candidates to advising clients on the competitive landscape and connecting them with the right talent for their company.
Sue uses a full-service approach with her clients, carrying out searches at all bands and functional areas, from entry level Creative and Design to C-level management. Her client list is quite extensive and notable, working with leading design brands and multinational fashion retailers.
Sue has interviewed candidates from around the globe, trained from the most prestigious schools, while providing a knowledgeable and experienced reference to draw upon. She has placed several thousand people in the fashion industry in her more than thirty year career.
Sue received her Associate's Degree in Fashion Buying and Merchandising from the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising, and her Bachelor’s degree from Montclair State University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Sue is a Certified Personnel Consultant (C.P.C.) and is a member of Fashion Group International.
Patty Hoban Scott joined Solomon Page in 2009 to create the Fashion and Beauty Freelance Division. Her career has been focused specifically in Fashion & Beauty - two industries that she loves.
Patty’s strategic sales and marketing experience along with her time working in these two great industries for many years has given her firsthand knowledge of what is takes to get a product to market, how to service clients, and to be a strategic partner. Her expertise assists her in helping clients have the right talent at the right level and at the right cost structure.
Patty started her career in the Beauty industry working for notable brands, such as Yves Saint Laurent, Charles of the Ritz, and Revlon, assisting in the launch of new Fragrances nationally. She continued her career moving into the hot, fashion trendy brand of Swatch. As Marketing Director she worked with the international teams to bring product and promotional events to the US market. Continuing to bring Fashion forward products to the market, Patty worked for Cyrk as the VP of Sales. Her clients were top Fortune 100 companies building custom products for consumers’ loyalty programs.
With strong product, sales, and marketing experience, Patty moved into the Fashion & Beauty Staffing industry. The marriage of her strategic skills sets was the perfect combination to help clients not only have great talent but also cost efficiencies to meet their budgets.
Patty’s tenure at Solomon Page has built a business and division that works nationally with major Manufacturers and Retailers. She has become a leading expert and advisor in her industry. Patty and her team specialize in Freelance talent from Design to Visual Merchandisers.
Elaine Hughes, is the most trusted and successful professional in the consumer products executive search industry. For 25 years, the largest retailers and consumer products companies have turned to her in management crises and for her expertise in long-term management team building strategy.
Elaine’s credentials include years of real experience both on the inside and on the consulting/executive search side of the industry. After graduating from Hunter College, she received her MBA degree from Sacred Heart University. Elaine joined Springs Industries as the first female account executive in the Company’s apparel fabrics division. Elaine went on the marketing positions in the textile industry with Malden Mills and Blue Ridge Winkler textiles. In 1991, after a term as partner in the executive search firm of Bader Hartley, Elaine founded E.A. Hughes & Company.
Elaine was named Entrepreneurial Woman of the Year in 1996 by the Fairfield County Girl Scout Council. She is on the Board of the Charles F. Dolan School of Business of Fairfield University. She is a three-term board member of Women in Management, where, she initiated two programs: The WIM Scholarship Fund, which offers financial assistance to women who are attending college, working and raising families, and the WIM Mentorship Program, which assists high school teenagers with positive role models from business. She a trustee of Bishop Kearney High School and on the advisory board of FIT’s Global Fashion Management program in the School of Graduate Studies.
Elaine is a founding member of the New York Textile Group, formerly known as the New York Textile Board of Trade. She is a long-term member of Fashion Group where she initiated the membership incentive program and is a member of the American Apparel & Footwear Association. She is also on the board of JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) and is a former Board Member of the Baseball Express Catalog Company (now known as Team Express Distributing, LLC) in San Antonio, Texas.
Elaine is regularly quoted in a number of publications including Women’s Wear Daily, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and Crain’s New York Business. She has sponsored both the WWD CEO Conference since 2003 as well as the Footwear Summit in 2012. She has been a featured speaker at numerous industry related events over the past 25 years.
